A rotary gear pump is a type of positive displacement pump widely used for transferring viscous liquids at a constant flow rate.
Description:
A rotary gear pump works by using two intermeshing gears—a drive gear and an idler gear—rotating inside a closely fitted casing. As the gears rotate, liquid is trapped in the spaces between the gear teeth and the pump casing. This trapped liquid is carried from the inlet (suction side) to the outlet (discharge side) of the pump. When the gears mesh again, the liquid is forced out under pressure.
